About us

 

Stoke Mandeville Village Community Association (SMVCA) is a small local charity focused on the needs and requirements of residents living in the community of Stoke Mandeville. It relies soley upon volunteers to run the organisation and the activities it arranges.

 

SMVCA’s main task is running the Eskdale Road Community Centre, a vibrant hub which offers a packed programme of varied activities. Situated in central Stoke Mandeville, the centre is surrounded by well-maintained playing fields, a skate park, basketball area, two tennis courts, a fun children’s play area and sizeable car park (capacity 38 vehicles, including two disabled spaces). There is a CCTV system monitoring the car park & Community Centre.

 

The Centre is primarily run as a venue for hire to individuals, clubs, agencies and organisations, which provide activities, opportunities and services to the community of Stoke Mandeville. These range from education and training, to social and recreational, as well as an ideal setting for business meetings and health and fitness classes. Thus, maximising the Centre’s facilities and resources.

Featuring Main Hall, with adjacent meeting room, access to fully equipped kitchen and recently refurbished toilet facilities or on a smaller scale, our Park Room, equipped with kitchenette and toilets.

Activities

 

Stoke Mandeville's vibrant hub, boasting a wide range of activities to suit all ages, from education and training to social and recreational.

Events

 

SMVCA organise a variety of events such as quiz nights, race nights and music/dinner evenings in an on-going attempt to raise funds for the running of the centre.
